Education changed my family’s trajectory, and as a teacher, parent, and trustee, I have seen firsthand what it takes to make that opportunity real for students. Since I was first elected in 2018, we have expanded student supports, invested in our teachers, built stronger community partnerships, and strengthened district stewardship. I’m running for re-election to build on that progress and bring Experienced Leadership for the Work Ahead.

Improve outcomes and expand opportunities so all students can thrive.
Ensure top-tier classroom instruction by developing a new district strategic plan focused on student learning and measurable outcomes.
Adopt a new math curriculum that better prepares students for success in high school, college, careers, and beyond.
Strengthen after-school enrichment and academic programs by better aligning them with classroom learning.

Support teachers with the resources and stability they need to succeed.
Support teachers through deeper collaboration and professional development focused on academic standards, assessment, and instructional practices that improve student learning.
Offer competitive compensation to attract and retain the highest-quality teachers and staff.
Continue supporting workforce housing and affordable preschool to help teachers and staff live and work in our community.

Collaborate with the City of Mountain View on programs and services that benefit students, families, and the broader community.

Meet Devon Conley, running for re-election to the Mountain View Whisman School Board.
Devon Conley was first elected to the Mountain View Whisman School Board in 2018. A national award-winning teacher, Devon has spent 24 years working in education, including teaching elementary school in San Francisco, San Jose, and Mountain View and working in education policy research. She brings the perspective of a teacher, parent, and education policy leader to her work on the School Board.
Devon has called Mountain View home since 2006 and has long been active in the community. She previously served as Vice Chair of the City of Mountain View Parks and Recreation Commission and currently serves as President of the Shoreline West Association of Neighbors. Since 2022, she has served as the California School Boards Association Region 20 Director representing Santa Clara County, advocating for students at the state and federal levels. In 2024, she co-founded the SUCCESS Collaborative of the Santa Clara County School Boards Association, focused on ensuring unhoused students have the resources and support they need to thrive. She also serves on the Santa Clara County Human Rights Commission.
Devon earned her B.A. in Architecture from Yale University, a Master’s in City Planning from UC Berkeley, and a Master’s in Education from Stanford University. She is the mother of an eighth grader at Graham Middle School and a three-year-old.
